why here.
Kasota is a town of about seven hundred people on the east side of the Minnesota River, less than ten minutes from both St. Peter and Mankato.
Yellowstone is being built on the valley's edge, just south of town.

The decision to build here.
This started with the land. The valley, the views, the stretch of ground between two towns that already have what a person needs. The question was never where to build cheaply — it was what belonged on ground like this, and what would still be worth something in forty years.

Rooted
Rooted
Kasota was platted in 1855. The name comes from a Dakota word meaning cleared off, which is a fair description of what the valley looks like when the light is right. The prairie two miles south has been protected by the state and never broken.
Yellowstone is built on the edge of it. Same views, same ground, same quiet — with a road in and utilities run.

Uncommon
Uncommon
There are two ways to live here, and both are open.
Buy a shouse — a house with a shop attached, built as one building. Four bedrooms, a forty-by-forty shop, and high-end finishes throughout. It's how people who make things want to live, and it's finished and ready now.
Or buy a lot and build. Your drawings, your size, your builder. No set floor plans and no approved builder list.

Enduring
Enduring
Everything here is new, and keeping it that way is already handled — the association takes care of the snow, the yard, and the sprinklers.
That matters more than it sounds. If you travel, or spend part of the winter somewhere warmer, the place still looks cared for when you're not in it.
The covenants are short and they're about upkeep. What you move into is what you'll still have in twenty years.

WE MAKE IT EASY
Bring your own drawings and your own builder. Build the size you want. Plans go to the city and to the developer, and that turnaround is fast — the developer treats it as a point of pride rather than a formality.
The covenants that exist are about upkeep. They're short, and they're there so the neighborhood you bought into stays that way.
